Sean Robinson, 18, of Sunderland, was jailed for five years after admitting the "abominable" attack in the summer of 2021 when he was 17 years old.Michael Tomlinson has 28 days to refer the case to the Court of Appeal. The hearing was told the victim had been walking home with the man, with them both planning a second date, when they were targeted.Robinson subjected the man to a "severe" beating leaving him unconscious and bleeding.Prosecutor Jane Waugh told the court the woman had "witnessed the horrific violence and knew what he was capable of".
