The Liverpudlian won the show back in 2018 with now-girlfriend Karen Byrne.

Singer Jake Carter says he has a lot to thank Dancing With The Stars for – as he hopes the show returns next year.Speculation remains whether or not the show will return next January after a running success this year, which saw Carl Mullan and Emily Barker lift the glitterball trophy.

He told the Irish Mirror: “When I was on the show, I was brand new to Ireland. I had just moved over. I wasn’t even here six months, so it was a huge platform for me. “It’s huge, it has such a wide demographic compared to most TV shows. It gets your name and face out there. I still know when I walk down the street, some people stop me and say, ‘oh Jesus there is the dancer’. It shows what kind of huge draw it has.”

“Carl is such a lovely fella. I was chatting to him throughout the whole show. Emily, God love her, has been on the show since the very start. It was great to see her win,” he added. This year, the paw-ty themed event expects over 12,000 dog lovers and their canine companions to walk the red carpet over the course of both events.
