James Martin jokingly 'stormed off' the set of his ITV show following a comment from First Dates star Merlin Griffiths. The celebrity chef pretended to be irritated after Merlin - who is a bartender on the hit E4 show - asked a question about air fryers.
During her cooking segment, Merlin questioned whether snack could be made in an air fryer instead of deep frying. As he watched Romy cook, Merlin said: "It's got to be deep fried... it's interesting because people would traditionally keep a pot of fat on the stove for doing the odd bit of deep frying."
Romy looked to be unhappy about Merlin's query too, as she rolled her eyes at the mention of an air fryer. She told Merlin: "Please don't ask me about air frying - no, no! Absolutely not!" The celebrity chef has made no secret of his dislike for air fryers in the past. He even once claimed that the cooking devices - a small countertop oven designed to simulate deep frying without submerging the food in oil - "should be banned".
