Wrexham and former Ireland winger James McClean’s latest Instagram story should come as no surprise to followers of the Derryman.
James McClean has left fans in no doubt as to who he wants to see lift the trophy at the end of Sunday night’s Euro 2024 final.
In the first, he is seen wearing the number 17 jersey that he swapped with Alvaro Arbeloa after Ireland’s 4-0 defeat to Spain at Euro 2012. McClean became a part of the English team story briefly during these Championships, after he criticised Declan Rice during his punditry work with RTE. “I am not going to sit here and slag him off. I thought he was a really top guy. When I left Ireland to come to England, I heard a few things he was obviously not happy about. He made comments a few years ago.
