The Derry man shared how he deals with the sectarian hate that he receives in the football world, and his recent autism diagnosis
James McClean is being praised by the public for his handling of sectarian abuse directed at him, after speaking openly about it on his first ever Late Late Show appearance.
“It’s like a duck to water now, it’s not going to change. I’m well used to it. I’m well versed on how to handle it,” James told Kielty, “it doesn’t change life for me I go about my job as normal and there’s some things you can’t control and some things you can control.” “There was an incident where they said they are going to burn your house down with your kids in it,” McClean shares, “you can shout about at me all day and I’ll fight fire with fire I don’t mind that but it becomes a different kettle of fish when your children get brought into it.”
