Tavernier could be on his way to Turkey - but only if Trabzonspor up their offer to meet Rangers' valuation
James Tavernier has reportedly agreed to Trabzonspor's offer of an initial two-year deal with the option of a further season - but it's claimed Rangers are holding out for more cash.
Trabzonspor contacted Rangers on Thursday about a deal and it's now being claimed in Turkey that the player has agreed on a contract until 2026, with the option of a further year. But it's also claimed by Turkish transfer expert Yagiz Sabuncunoglu that their initial offer for Tavernier fell short of the Ibrox side's valuation to the tune of €1m .
The hitman was considered by both Glasgow sides back in January 2020 but decided to remain with Stoke City. However, he has now left the Potters with his contract up and he's now on the market as a free agent. The Daily Mail report that Rangers are among his options with a host of English Championship clubs also keen on the attacker.
