The former Ibrox boss is keen on taking the captain to the Saudi Pro League this summer.
Rangers skipper James Tavernier shrugged off Saudi speculation as insisted his only focus is leading Philippe Clement ’s side to Scottish Cup glory.
“I have two seasons left and I am fully focused with the job in hand. That’s performing for Rangers. There is always going to be speculation in football, regardless of which player it is. “Next season is going to be a bit different. That’s football. You gain players, you lose players. But it’s going to be a proper pre-season under the manager which we are all looking forward to. It’s about moving forward and going from strength to strength.”
Individual mistakes have proved Rangers undoing against their bitter rivals in this season’s four Premiership clashes. From Cyriel Dessers failing to pull the trigger when clean through at Parkhead, Tavernier blasting the ball off Daizen Maeda and into his own net at Ibrox or John Lundstram’s calamity show last time out, Rangers have made a major contribution to their own downfall.
