The AMBER Alert System in Alaska is a voluntary public service that provides an urgent alert message for serious child-abduction cases.
It is comprised of law enforcement agencies, broadcasters, media, and the public to assist in recovery of abducted children.
The television and radio broadcast Emergency Alert System , uses email, social media, and the State’s transportation 511 system to distribute a description of the abducted child and suspected abductor.To assist in the recovery of missing persons, Alaska uses the Silver Alert System. The Silver Alert System is used to alert the public when a vulnerable adult is missing and believed to be in serious danger.
The Silver Alert also uses media and broadcast releases, email, social media, and the state’s transportation 511 system to distribute a description of the missing adult.All 50 U.S. states and several countries now have an AMBER Alert program.
