Jarlath Burns, the president of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), has received widespread acclaim for his leadership. Since taking office in February 2023, he has implemented significant changes, including radical rule changes for Gaelic Football. Burns has worked as a school teacher and later a principal at St. Paul’s Bessbrook but has been involved in GAA administration since finishing his playing career. He has been married to his wife Suzanne, who is involved in teaching, for 36 years, with the pair having five children together. Among their children is Jarly Og Burns who was part of the Armagh team that won last season's All-Ireland Football Championship.
