Jason Momoa clarifies his message that sparked rumors of Zack Snyder's potential return to the DCU. A lot has happened to Warner Bros.' comic book movie franchise since it started almost a decade ago via Man of Steel. Following several stops and starts, not to mention projects moving forward and getting canceled, nothing has been as controversial as Snyder's departure, which continues to be a big talking point among its fan base.

Although he cannot get into specifics about what's going on behind the scenes, he clarifies that it has nothing to do with Snyder returning to DC, although he cannot be more thrilled with Gunn and Safran taking the reins over the franchise.

It's still difficult to say if Snyder will actually return to the DCU. As Momoa said, his cryptic post has nothing to do with Snyder or the comic book franchise. However, considering his close relationship with Snyder, who was instrumental in casting him as Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, it's safe to say that he won't be opposed to seeing the filmmaker back in the universe that he helped kick off.
At this point, it's best to wait for any official information from DCU personnel before getting invested in any rumors about the franchise. Gunn has continued to be tightlipped about future plans for the universe, but considering his time working with Kevin Feige, chances are that he isn't ready to spill any major news about the future of the DCU at this point. That includes whether or not Zack Snyder will be a part of it.
