Jason Smyth and Karen Byrne have moved the nation to tears tonight with their powerful performance to Go the Distance by Michael Bolton - and some of the judges too. Professional dancer Karen wanted to really understand what it was like to dance for Jason, who is legally blind with his central vision being affected by Stargardt's disease. Karen wore a blindfold, completely obscuring her vision, for the majority of their final dance.
It was a hugely emotive dance, which got a standing ovation from the in-studio crowd and huge reactions from those viewing the show at home. Karen began crying as the dance finished, with Jason and Karen embracing as the dance came to an end.
