The original Riverdance performer made history when she co-choreographed the stunning performance with Michael Flatley for the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest which was hosted in Dublin
Jean Butler is one of the world’s most famous Irish dancers after co-choreographing Riverdance with Michael Flatley for the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest.
She tried it again at the age of nine and fell in love with the dance style. This was partially due to her new teacher, Donald Golden. How did Jean create Riverdance? After school, she performed with Green Fields of America and Cherish the Ladies. She made her debut at 17 with The Chieftains at Carnegie Hall and toured the world with them.
Between 2003 to 2005, she was Artist In Residence at the University of Limerick's Irish World Music Centre.
