Jeff Brazier has shared his regret over neglecting his own needs after becoming a single father to sons Bobby and Freddie following the tragic death of Jade Goody in 2009

Jeff Brazier has shared his regret over making himself "small" after the death of Jade Goody, admitting that he felt "a lot of pressure" as a single dad to two young sons.

The TV personality, who became a single dad to sons Bobby and Freddie following the loss of their famous mother in 2009, spoke candidly about his own experience of parenting two young children in the aftermath of Jade's passing. The Big Brother star died aged 27 from cervical cancer, just seven months after being diagnosed with the disease.

"When the boys lost their mum, I absolutely reduced myself as a coping strategy," he said. "I made myself small socially, emotionally, professionally to give myself the best possible chance of coping what was in front of me. Jeff, who was 31 at the time of Jade's passing, was famously protective of Bobby and Freddie during the media attention surrounding their mother's illness and death. In March 2009, he released an appeal to the press to stop taking photographs of his sons, who were just four and five years old when they lost their mum.
