Former DUP leader faces a total of 11 charges over a 21-year period with dates spanning from January 1985 to December 2006
is appearing in court on Wednesday morning charged with rape and other sexual offences on dates spanning more than two decades.
The nine counts of indecent assault are alleged to have taken place on dates between January 1st 1985 and January 1st 2006.‘When our last embryo failed, the clinic told us there was nothing more they could do for us’ In a statement from the DUP following an emergency meeting of its senior officers on March 29th, the party said it had received a letter from Mr Donaldson “confirming that he has been charged with allegations of an historical nature and indicating that he is stepping down as leader of the Democratic Unionist Party with immediate effect. In accordance with the party rules, the party officers have suspended Mr Donaldson from membership, pending the outcome of a judicial process.
He is Northern Ireland’s longest-serving MP and has been the representative for Lagan Valley since 1997, retaining the seat even after he quit the UUP and joined the DUP in 2004.
