Jermaine Jenas has been sacked by the BBC following allegations of inappropriate behaviour. Jenas had been a pundit and presenter on Match of the Day and host of The One Show. His career prior to broadcasting included playing for a number of football clubs including Tottenham, QPR, Newcastle, and earning 21 caps for England. A BBC spokesperson told Mirror Football: 'We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line up.
He scored one goal for his country, against Switzerland, at Wembley, in 2008, but a knee injury forced him to retire early. In 2020, the now-41 year old joined The One Show, co-presenting with Alex Jones, and became a permanent host a year later. Alongside his football coverage for TNT, he also serves as the main presenter for Formula E, a role he took on last year. It's unclear whether his departure from the BBC will impact this role and Formula E has been approached for a comment.
