Apple's Loot stars Joel Kim Booster and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez discuss the show's finale and its approach to 'wealth porn' 🤑
navigates all this in the finale while still keeping things fun and light enough to get those bigger messages across. It's a really subtle one. We didn't get to work together a ton until the later half of the season, I think. But the banquet award ceremony stuff that I got to do with you was so fun – where we come together and rally behind Molly. That was fun.
I had a lot of discussions with Matt [Hubbard] and Alan [Yang] about like:"Do you want him to be a bad actor? Do you want him to be a good actor? How do you want me to play this?" They said,"Just act. Just play it as real as you can." It's not a great script by any means that I was performing, but they were like,"Treat it like you would with any other scene in the show."So that's how I approach anything I'm doing.
So hearing that from a taxi cab driver, who is also of colour – it just hits. And I was glad I got to do that. And I hope people find it really resonates when they come to that, too.JKB
