John Murdoch samples the Ford Ranger Tremor and discovers Mazda's price cuts on the MX-30 SUVs.
In this instalment of John Murdoch 's Drive Time , Johnsamples the Ford Ranger Tremor , a tough pick-up designed to tackle the challenges faced when you go on to difficult terrain, and discovers Mazda has made price cuts to its stylish premium electric compact MX-30 SUVs.
Ford says its Flexible Rack System makes it easier to carry items such as ladders, planks and kayaks and the set-up is also available as an option for the regular Ranger Wildtrak. Standard off-road technologies include Trail Turn Assist, which uses brake-based torque vectoring to reduce turning radius by up to 25 per cent when tight turns are needed and Trail Control which operates in a similar way to cruise control allowing the driver to select a speed below 20mph and the vehicle will automatically manage acceleration and braking to maintain the selected speed.
You get lots of kit including a rear view camera, new large central touchscreen with Ford Sync 3 technology, a DAB radio, heated windscreen, and a large number of power sockets as well as a leather sport steering wheel with multimedia controls as well as dual power mirrors and windows. The unique Mazda MX-30 battery electric compact SUV is a stylish, premium and driver-focused EV that is now better value than ever, thanks to more competitive pricing and a new finance campaign that delivers a sub £200 a month cost on a zero per cent APR PCP that features a £6000 deposit contribution.
Commenting on the enhanced consumer offers on the Mazda MX-30 BEV, Jeremy Thomson, managing director, Mazda Motors UK, said: “Thanks to its compact battery, the Mazda MX-30 offers a tempting blend of an affordable price tag and engaging handling, which combined with its distinctive styling and class-leading interior quality makes it a uniquely attractive and premium proposition at this price point.

GB News beats Rupert Murdoch's TalkTV in ratingsDespite lacking the cross-promotional advantages of a giant media stable, the channel has won out by feeding its target audience with red meat issues that foment culture wars. Jacob Rees-Mogg’s State of the Nation on GB News was among the episodes to breach Ofcom rules on impartiality. That scrap has been won on all scorecards by the upstart. Murdoch dominates the TV news market in America as the owner of money-spinning Fox News, but in Britain he had to take his dog out of the fight, retiring TalkTV to an online only future this month. Scoop interviews with everyone from Volodymyr Zelensky to Cristiano Ronaldo and Kanye West but it’s hard to see his reported £50m deal being renewed beyond next year, now that he is primarily a YouTuber.
