Johnny Greville, a former Westmeath hurler, has been appointed as the new manager of the Meath senior hurlers for a three-year term. He replaces Seoirse Bulfin, who resigned in March. Greville brings extensive managerial experience, having led clubs like Raharney and Kildalkey to success.

He steps into the role after Seoirse Bulfin, Davy Fitzgerald’s long-time right-hand man, resigned in March with Stephen Clynch seeing out the rest of the season on an interim basis as the team suffered relegation to the Christy Ring Cup after losing each of their five Joe McDonagh Cup matches.

Among his other managerial assignments was a spell with Kildalkey, so he will be familiar with the scene in Meath. A Meath GAA statement said that Greville’s appointment will be approved at the next county board meeting, with Sean Corrigan and Tom Shine as selectors and Adrian O’Sullivan the head coach.
