After a devastating loss against New Zealand at Stade de France over the weekend, Johnny Sexton looks toward retirement, his family and future business dealings
We said goodbye to rugby star, Johnny Sexton, as he heads into retirement after Ireland’s loss to New Zealand on Saturday.
One option for Sexton is to take up a more permanent role in Ardagh Group, which is chaired by Irish billionaire, Paul Coulson. Currently, Sexton works one day a week at the company as a Commercial Manager, and has done so since 2021.In 2008, Sexton also established JAS Management and Promotions Ltd, which had accumulated profits of €2.3million to September last year, according to Evoke.
The rugby legend has also been the brand ambassador for Mace since 2018, and been featured on the convenience store’s various social media platforms and prizes, as Mace ran a competition to win a one on one rugby training session with Sexton in September. While Sexton has much to look forward to in his retirement, his disappointment in Ireland’s defeat in Saturday’s Word Cup quarter final against New Zealand was evident.
