Economist Films is looking for a Production Assistant to join our team on a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic and vibrant team at the forefront of online documentaries, where you will primarily be supporting the production-management team. The role is administrative and technical, with the responsibility for a wide variety of tasks across all aspects of production.

The right candidate for this support role will have at least 2 credits as a Production Assistant, ideally in documentary production. They will be used to working in a busy office environment, and have experience working on shoots. They will be a self-starter, driven, have good organisational skills and the ability to multitask. Knowledge of camera equipment is essential.

This role would suit someone looking to get into the production management side of filmmaking, as they will be working closely with the Unit Manager and Production Coordinator to ensure smooth running of the department. We are looking for someone who is flexible and organised, enthusiastic to learn and willing to assist across all output from the Films department. In return, we will provide a supportive and progressive environment with a wide range of opportunities for you to grow both personally and professionally.
