The former Premier League whistler will oversee all aspects of VAR in Scotland
The video technology has been widely panned by Premiership bosses, players, pundits and fans alike since its introduction, with lengthy delays leaving match-going punters baffled and inconsistency still an issue despite whistlers getting a second look. Now Collum, who was appointed as head of refereeing this summer, replacing Crawford Allan, has installed Moss as VAR manager in a bid to iron out the problems still plaguing it.
"We went through a similar process around the introduction of VAR in England - I was the referee in the first ever game that VAR intervened in the country - so I've seen first-hand what has worked and what needed to change, both as a referee and in my role within PGMOL. Collum added: "I am delighted to welcome Jon, who has significant and varied experience in using technology as a referee, working as a VAR operator and also serving behind the scenes as a manager of elite officials.
