Rory McIlroy missed two short putts on the final two holes to hand victory to Bryson DeChambeau at the U.S. Open, his first major championship in 10 years
Jon Rahm has leapt to the defence of his Ryder Cup comrade Rory McIlroy following the latter's gut-wrenching missed putts at the U. S. Open last Sunday.
The initial miss occurred on the 16th green, marking the first time this season McIlroy didn't sink a putt from within three feet after successfully making 496 in a row from that range. "One of the things that absolutely burned me," Rahm remarked while gearing up for his comeback at LIV Nashville this week.
