Mara Lane expressed gratitude to firefighters for protecting their home from the Franklin wildfire that ravaged Malibu, highlighting the challenging weeks leading up to Christmas.
The wife of Jonathan Rhys Meyers has thanked fire officers for saving their home after a major inferno threatened to engulf their Malibu home just weeks before Christmas. Actors Dick Van Dyke and Mark Hamill and musician Cher were among thousands of residents who were forced to leave their homes in Malibu after a fast-moving Franklin wildfire broke out and burned acres of the wealthy enclave near Los Angeles just weeks before Christmas.
Jonathan, his wife Mara Lane and their son Wolf were among those who were also affected. Writing on Instagram, she said: 'To be honest, past couple weeks were a lil exhausting, the recent fires right outside our neighbourhood, the week of no electricity, road closures, evacuations, school cancelations.. Having to jump straight into a week of celebrations for Wolf. We did five cakes, real snow, two parties, and one sleepover lol. Straight to Christmas. 'Now that presents opened and bellies filled can breathe again and catch up on here. 'No bad days as a Mom must keep keeping on. Bless you all adulting! We got this. 'And thank you again @losangelesfiredepartment and Malibu Fire Brigade for saving all the homes and wildlife. Hero Life,' she added. More than 4,000 acres of land have been burned, according to US officials. In 2018, Meyers praised Mara Lane for being a 'superior woman' while promising he will 'only marry once'. The Dracula star said that he and Mara Lane's marriage will last as she knows how to 'handle' him. 'Everything good and beautiful in my life comes from my wife and son,' he told The Times at the time. 'I promise you: I will only marry once. Actors can be moody bastards and we have been through thick and thin together. She knows how to handle me'
