Jose Mourinho to Celtic report rubbished as former Manchester United boss ponders next job
Celtic have denied a report that claims the club launched an audacious bid to make Jose Mourinho their next manager.
The former Manchester United boss has been out of work since leaving Old Trafford at the end of last year and was said to be interesting the Hoops. Sky Italia report the Special One has received an offer from the Scottish champions with his agent Jorge Mendes enjoying a 'close relationship' with Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell.
And although Mourinho is hoping to be offered the Paris Saint-Germain job in the summer if the French giants decide to axe Thomas Tuchel, it is being reported he is refusing to dismiss Celtic as his next destination However, high-ranking sources at Parkhead have rubbished the claim the club offered a contract to the Portuguese.The 56-year-old has won 25 honours during a glittering career as a manager but an ill-fated spell in charge at Old Trafford increased his detractors’ beliefs he has failed to move with the times.Tuchel, meanwhile, is under fire at Paris where he failed to lead the Ligue 1 giants past the Champions League last 16 and win the Coupe de France this season.
