Here and gone: Josh Christopher's clothing line a hit with Rockets fans
Rockets guard Josh Christopher shows off some of the apparel that will drop at the Rockets Team Shop on Oct. 8, 2022.The debut of Rockets guard Josh Christopher’s apparel on Saturday drew lines outside the Rockets’ team shop and around the front of Toyota Center and a near sellout of every item by the 3 p.m. close of the store after the hoodies sold out before noon.
“Today’s a big day,” said Christopher, who led the design of the five items that went on sale Saturday. “I don’t think we could have asked for anything more. For myself, me being able to drop clothes for the city, I guess I got what I asked for. I wanted it to be for the people and about the people. Everything just meshed.”
Christopher said he was not nervous about the debut of the clothing he designed “because I knew it looked good. “Showing people the concepts and ideas, everybody was super excited for it,” Christopher said. “Clothes are my passion and I have fun with it.” Christopher even found a famous model to wear a sample of his collection with Rockets assistant coach John Lucas wearing one of the T-shirts at the open practice.
