A judge dismissed criminal charges against two Cleveland police officers accused of ignoring a woman’s plea for help after a fight. The woman, according to prosecutors, later sought retribution with a group that fatally shot a man in the same area.
“The city prosecutor has lost of all her cases against our officers,” Follmer said. “The decisions to charge these officers are unprofessional and a waste of taxpayers’ money.”
She crashed her car and a group of men attacked her. The group hit her at least 27 times, leaving her with injuries, including a swollen face, according to court records. Turner eventually told the officers that she had been attacked before limping away. She returned about an hour later and told the officers she wanted to make a police report about the attack and the men stealing her gun.
The officers never made a police report about the attack. They listed her as a suspect in a hit-and-run crash, even though she was still at the scene.
