A judge has stated that the trial of Jeffrey Donaldson and his wife, Eleanor, should proceed as planned at the end of March, despite a defense application to dismiss two charges against Eleanor. The historical charges against Donaldson include rape, indecent assault, and gross indecency. Eleanor Donaldson faces charges of aiding and abetting. The no bill hearing to dismiss the two charges against Eleanor is scheduled for January 23rd.

She has entered not guilty pleas to three charges in advance of the March trial but her defence team has applied to have two other charges against her withdrawn. “We are not proceeding with that today, for technical reasons we can’t proceed with that so we are going to fix a date for the hearing of that.”
He said: “Our trial is the end of March. I take it it won’t affect the trial, we can get this matter dealt with.”
