Minister says constant revelations means “it just feels like we keep taking a step back”

Justice Minister Helen McEntee has told the chair of RTÉ she needs to get her executive in line to stop the constant drip feed of information.

She also said that the Government rejected calls to scrap the licence fee and fund through exchequer monies for fear of crossing a line about the broadcaster’s independence, but said the funding model does need to be looked at.
