The conviction of Thomas 'Nicky' McConnell for the murder of Gareth Hutch brings closure to his family and signifies the end of a brutal feud.
Slain feud victim Gareth Hutch’s sisters are finally no longer looking over their shoulders in fear of the Kinahan cartel. On Friday cartel hitman Thomas 'Nicky' McConnell became the fourth person found guilty of Gareth’s murder. The young father-of-one was shot dead in an ambush in Dublin’s north inner city in 2016. But Rhonda says she believes the bloody feud that saw 18 men shot dead is over – and they can finally live without looking over their shoulders. She said: 'We’re just a family, and it’s the girls really left. Back then you would have but now no. You know yourself it’s finished, it’s over. They got who they wanted to get.' Paying tribute to her brother Gareth, Rhonda said: 'He was funny and he loved a wind-up. He just enjoyed the craic. He was a normal fella and was a father as well. He left a son behind.' She told us that when her brother was killed she and other innocent family members didn’t even know what the reason was – and suddenly they found themselves thrust into the middle of a violent feu
