She is recovering from a lung transplant
The star's mother was diagnosed with idopathic pulmonary fibrosis back in 2017, a condition which causes the tiny air sacs in the lungs to become damaged and increasingly scarred.
Amy recently wrote a book called The Last Word , where she sought to set the record straight about her daughter Katie. Amy added that Katie's recent ADHD diagnosis has explained so much, adding that Katie apologised to her family for all the upset that was caused over the years. "We were just an ordinary family, and all of a sudden we were getting all this publicity because of Kate... my son disowned her first of all, because he started getting loads of stick from people at university."
