LooseWomen panelist Kaye Adams has welcomed London mayor Sadiq Khan’s groundbreaking menopause policy for staff at City Hall, and now hopes it will mark the beginning of other workplaces following in its footsteps.

‘Women of menopausal age are the fastest-growing demographic in the workplace yet it’s thought up to a million might leave their jobs because they are struggling to deal with their menopause symptoms in an unsympathetic environment,’ she said. It comes as trailblazers including Davina McCall burst open the conversation after initially living under stigma and feeling embarrassed about menopause.
It’s far from just celebrities and TV presenters speaking out: last year, Metro.co.uk spoke to Julie, an employee at drinks company Diageo, which introducedJulie said she believes working in an environment where she can talk about any symptoms is vital, adding: ‘There is so much focus on attracting and retaining female talent, but companies are often neglecting their over-50 female workers by not addressing menopause.
