Roy Keane has made it clear to Ruben Amorim that he may need a lengthy period of time to make Manchester United a success after seeing them draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford
Roy Keane has joked that Ruben Amorim should've signed a longer deal with Manchester United as he underlined the scale of the task facing him.
Keane though has outlined once again the number of problems at United and claimed that Amorim may need a long time to take them back to the heights they once enjoyed. The Portuguese manager has signed a three-year deal with the club. He said on Sky Sports: "He should've signed a longer contract. It's a long way back for this team. Look a new manager will come in and you hope he'll get more out of this group but this is an average United team - all the stats back it up. We keep repeating ourselves, but you don't know what you'll get with them. Yes they could've won the game but there's also a good chance they could lose it. Not good.
He went on to add: "As a team you look at them and certain individuals, we think they're better than what they are. They've got international players and you hang a hat sometimes on a team having quality or being physical, but this United team are just average at everything."
