With the fluctuation of summer temperatures, it can be hard to know where to store a loaf of bread.
Bread is a staple in British kitchens, with an astonishing 99.8 percent of households popping it into their trolleys, resulting in nearly 11 million loaves being sold daily across the UK. Yet, with the unpredictable swings of summer temperatures, many are left scratching their heads over the best spot to keep their bread fresh. Food safety guru Sarah Taylor from High-Speed Training has dished out her top tips on the ideal storage spot to prevent your loaf from turning stale or mouldy too soon.
'To keep your bread fresh for longer, it's best to keep it covered. Whether you have a dedicated bread bin or bread bag, or whether you're keeping the loaf in its original packaging, you want to try and store the bread in a cool, dry place.' She also warned against the pitfalls of plastic packaging, particularly in warm conditions where it can lead to condensation inside the bag.
