The victim was left with life-changing injuries after the attack and a teenage boy has now been charged with his attempted murder
The leader and deputy leader of Labour have outlined how they plan to tackle knife crime days after a man was stabbed in the head in Leyland.
The incident came amid concerns over anti-social behaviour problems across South Ribble, including an incident which saw a group of teenagers chase a boy into Leyland's McDonalds while reportedly carrying knives. Sir Keir told LancsLive that a Labour government will pledge to halve the number of knife crime incidents and clamp down on anti-social behaviour. He said: "The government likes to pretend that anti-social behaviour is low level, doesn't really affect people.
The Leyland stabbing occurred last Friday and police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to come forward. The teenager, who cannot be named due to his age, was due to appear before Preston Magistrates Court today while a 18-year-old man from Leyland who was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
