Kerry Washington joins The Simpsons as Bart's fourth grade teacher
The Scandal star will play Bart Simpson's fourth-grade teacher Rayshelle Peyton. Kerry's alter ego is a replacement for Mrs. Krabappel, who was voiced by the late Marcia Wallace until her death in 2013.
In 2020, Kerry declared she would like to voice black cartoon characters. At the time, The Simpsons was facing backlash which saw white voice actor Hank Azaria quit portraying the parts of people of color, including Apu
