Businessman Tony O'Reilly, aged 88, has passed away at St. Vincent's Hospital Dublin. He was a widely respected marketeer who invented Kerrygold and later became the head of Heinz
A spokesperson stated that Mr. O'Reilly was surrounded by his family at St. Vincent's Hospital at the time of his death.
He studied law at University College Dublin and then worked for the fuel importer Suttons in Cork before joining the Irish Dairy Board, also known as Bord Bainne. Before relocating to the United States, Tony led Bord Bainne and the Irish Sugar Company, with his appointment to the latter recommended by then Taoiseach Jack Lynch.
