If Kevin Durant is going to stop his old team from winning another NBA title, it will have to be in the Finals.
After a bizarre summer in which the formerrequested a trade, then doubled down with a demand for the Nets to fire head coach Steve Nash and GM Sean Marks, he's staying in Brooklyn after all.
So after a contentious summer where at various points it appeared both Kyrie Irving and Durant wanted out, the Nets are running it back with the mercurial duo plus Ben Simmons. None of the Warriors' would-be rivals, in either conference, will be adding a superstar scorer this summer. Marks, apparently retaining his job and his superstar forward, issued a statement through the Nets' social media that also had the logo of Durant's media company, Boardroom.
"Steve Nash and I, together with Joe Tsai and Clara Wu Tsai, met with Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman in Los Angeles yesterday," the statement said."We have agreed to move forward with our partnership."
