KFC unknown substance attack leaves breathless victims needing hospital treatment

Multiple people needed treatment when a man began spraying another man with a canister containing an unknown substance as an argument broke out inside a KFC restaurant.

The man pulled the canister from his bag and sprayed it directly at the victim when then the row erupted inside the Colne Road branch in Burnley on Friday afternoon . The incident left people requiring treatment from paramedics and even hospitalisation as they suffered problems including breathing difficulties.

A police spokesperson said it is not currently known was substance was sprayed by the man and inhaled by the bystanders. Officers were called to the scene at around 4pm and put road closures in place while the incident was investigated.The spokesperson said: "We were called at shortly before 4pm to the KFC restaurant on Colne Road after a man pulled a canister from a bag and sprayed another man who he had been arguing with.

"Fortunately, no-one appears to have suffered any lasting effects. The exact nature of the substance is not known at this time."
