At the moment Sophia suffers through excruciating pain daily
A Kildare family are thrilled as their daughter Sophia has received a date for a surgery that will change her life.
Laura, her mum, told RSVP Live: "At eight months old, she wasn't meeting her milestones, so then she needed to have an MRI. "Sophia struggles with most daily things," said Laura. "Walking is the main thing, she can't get up and walk around. She suffers with muscle spasms and tight muscles, so she's in daily pain. Even at night time, she doesn't sleep, she's awake most of the night and I have to sleep in with her every single night."
"We have raised €53,000 so far with €77,000 left to raise. We have had such amazing support from everyone. We are so grateful to everyone who has donated their hard-earned money to Sophia to give her this amazing chance at life.""The Travelling community in Newbridge and Rathkeale has been an amazing support to us," said Laura. "We are so blessed to receive such much help from them.
Despite the amazing fundraising so far, there is still some to go. You can check out their fundraiser here and their Facebook page, which runs fundraising raffles, here.
