He;'s considered the Kinahan cartel’s No.1 man in Ireland
The High Court has ordered that a Criminal Assets Bureau receiver take control of part of the €1.5m assets linked to the Kinahan cartel’s No.1 man in Ireland.
Also named in the court documents was his mother Julie Conway, his partner Sinead Mulhall, his sisters Cheryl and Robyn Browning, his aunt Lesley Conway and second cousin Ian O’Heaire. “They have given their undertaking to mind the valuable properties,” the judge said after he was informed those inhabiting the properties have “agreed to vacate them in a timely manner.”
Chestnut Lodge - which was searched by the CAB in 2018 - featured an ‘escape hatch’ concealed with a hanging carpet leading from the house to the shed behind it. A motorbike was at the foot of the escape hatch which a senior detective said in an affidavit “was clearly there for Browning’s use.” It’s the Bureau’s evidence Browning purchased the property at Cross Lane in Rush with a cheque from his then 8-year-old son’s account. The CAB claimed Browning is behind both properties.
The Bureau said the 37-year-old is a ‘close and trusted associate of Daniel Kinahan; is involved in activities necessary to generate large amounts of money and in his role “operates on a hands off basis” to distance himself from potential detection.
