King Charles has made a surprise visit to one of his late mother's favourite events, just days after he returned to public duties following his cancer diagnosis
Just days after returning to public duties, King Charles made a surprise appearance at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, a cherished event long favoured by his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
More recently, their granddaughter, Lady Louise Windsor, has followed in their footsteps, competing at the event. Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, were also present at this year's show, reports the Mirror. During his visit, Charles shared a moment of empathy with cancer patient Lesley Woodbridge, who was receiving chemotherapy, saying: "It's always a bit of a shock, isn't it, when they tell you?" He also mentioned his own treatment, noting: "I've got to have my treatment this afternoon as well."
