King Charles tells rail passengers to 'mind the gap' in special Coronation message
King Charles is reminding rail passengers across the country to “mind the gap” with a special royal safety message made for the Coronation weekend.
In the message, the King begins by telling passengers: “My wife and I wish you and your families a wonderful coronation weekend.”The message concludes with Charles adding: “And remember, please mind the gap.”Warnings to “mind the gap” are common at London Underground stations. The King and Queen Consort will be officially crowned during a historic ceremony at Westminster Abbey on Saturday.
The service will be attended by more than 2,000 VIP guests - including heads of state, overseas government representatives, Government ministers, UK politicians, as well as foreign and UK royals. For the first time it will also include the Homage of the People – a modern addition to the ancient ceremony that will see people across the UK and overseas realms invited to swear an oath of allegiance to the King.
