The statement concluded with the siblings thanking Alley's fans, writing, “We thank you for your love and prayers and ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time.”, True and Lillie said their mother had been diagnosed with cancer “only recently.” Alley became a mom in 1992 when she adopted True with her ex-husband, Peter Stevenson.
