‘All three incidents were a clean cut, no tugging or pulling.' A knitted Charles display in Nottinghamshire has been beheaded 3 times since it was installed - but locals suspect the attacks are more than mindless vandalism.
And now someone in Nottinghamshire has decapitated the new monarch – at least, not in the literal sense.
Locals decided to create knitted and crocheted displays of the royal family to celebrate the coronation weekend, only to discover Charles has been decapitated three times in a row.The topper was repaired with a new head, but Charles has been beheaded once again on the same postbox and as part of a coronation balcony scene.
‘If you are anti-royal then please find a way to protest about that in your own way. Your actions here have just destroyed a talented craft person’s work. Find another way to make your point.’ Volunteers in the village love creating knitted and crocheted displays, but said they have never come across acts of vandalism like this.
Alex Preston runs The Bottle Top store in the village and said it was ‘heartbreaking’ to see scenes like this.
