The Ukrainians thumped their Serbian opponents to tee up Hampden meeting with Gers
The Ukrainian giants had the job done after the first leg of their second round qualifier, taking out their anger and hitting Partizan for six in Poland. Prior to the first meeting, Dynamo were left seething after their opponents had jetted out to Russia for a pre-season "brotherhood" tournament.
And it was the sorry Serbs who were left shellshocked after a 6-2 drubbing, ultimately ending their hopes progressing to face Phillippe Clement's side at the half-way stage. And two-time European Cup winners Kiev rubbed further salt in the wounds in the second leg, adding further gloss toe the scoreline with a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Andriy Yarmolenko, Vladyslav Vanat and Oleksandr Karavayev, making it an embarrassing 9-2 aggregate defeat Aleksandar Stanojevic's side.
They will now take on the Scottish Premiership runners up for a place in the playoff round. Gers will head to Poland next Tuesday or Wednesday, with Kyiv still unable to play on home soil given the ongoing war. However, the Light Blues will also be in unfamiliar surroundings when they welcome Dynamo to Glasgow.
Delays to building works have put Ibrox out of action until at least the end of September, although chairman John Bennett has admitted it may be the following month before Rangers are back where they should be. They'll rent Hampden for the time being and that's where they'll do battle with Dynamo on Tuesday August 13.
