The party won the parliamentary seat on the same night as the local elections
Labour have won the Blackpool South parliamentary by-election, landing another huge blow to Rishi Sunak's premiership.
This came after Mr Benton was filmed by The Times newspaper in 2023 offering to lobby ministers and table parliamentary questions on behalf of gambling investors. He was stripped of the Tory whip after the allegations surfaced and had been sitting as an independent before he stepped down. After he won, Mr Webb said: "People no longer trust the Conservatives. Prime Minister: do the decent thing, admit you’ve failed and call a general election."
On his party's performance, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said: “This seismic win in Blackpool South is the most important result today.
