That was properly f***ing amazing. This is not the same, I’m scared. Arsenal and Liverpool fans react in the Mailbox.

Lots of talk of, but Man City have only played one Big Six side. Arsenal have played 3, and won 2. Arsenal have also beaten everyone else, whereas Man City have dropped points.PaulTrent’s defending for the second goal reminded me of Neville’s comments on Luiz looking like a kid with a PlayStation controller. Luiz was actually good at defending every once in a while though.

That’s not to say it was a walkover because there were some lengthy spells where Arsenal were running scared but unfortunately our defence has, for reasons unbeknownst to anybody, decided to shit the bed on a regular basis.Trent is partially the cause of this but anyone putting it all down to him needs to question their analysis. Because the defence continued to struggle when he went off.

Trent added nothing offensively today and was clearly liable for both goals. It’s not because he’s a bad defender it’s because he’s become complacent having won everything in English football. I hope the embarrassment of being ditched at half time wakes him up but I also think Klopp would do well to leave him out against Man City.

Stewie Griffin can hibernate for a bit. I’m sure he’ll come out of his slumber in the next bad run of form & selectively pick stats that suit his stale & repetitive 16-year-old narrative. He should talk about something new as he is going stale just like his nemesis/alter-ego/crush Arsene Wenger in his last few years with Arsenal.…Caught the Arsenal game, it was a proper match.

Xhaka and Odegaard were anonymous during the first half. Liverpool overran them in the midfield, but for Partey, it would have been a slaughter. Credit to them both and the manager for improving after the break, Xhaka especially was notable. That said, sometimes Jesus does too much when with possession in front of goal, sometimes you just need to stick ‘da thing’ inside the net. But I loved what he did close to the end, coming back to defend a sure goal.

The first half was actually one of the poorest Arsenal have played this season, 2 very nice counter attacking and ruthless goals but there wasn’t the control we’ve had in other games – and Liverpool deserve credit for that because they deserved to be level at half time. But second half Arsenal were much better and fully deserved the win.

The narrative needs to stop being changed though, right now Arsenal are not title challengers, you don’t go from 8th to 5th to winning the title. The title wasn’t Arsenal’s aim this season it was top 4 and plenty of experts told Arsenal they weren’t good enough for that, suddenly now the same people are saying we’re not good enough for a title challenge. People change the narrative so they can knock the team when things don’t go right.
