A 6,404-square-foot, Italianate-style coach house in Lake Forest with a 75-foot-high tower sold for $1.8M after being on and off the market for close to 12 years.

Built in 1928 and designed by noted architect David Adler, the five-bedroom brick and stucco house on Mayflower Road was constructed as a coach house for banker Alfred Hamill’s Centaurs estate nearby on Illinois Road, which still stands. The Italianate-style coach house’s sellers on March 10 had owned it for 35 years and have updated it while preserving many details.
