MND Scotland is encouraging people in Lanarkshire of all ages and abilities to sign up for its annual fun run.
MND is a rapidly progressing terminal illness, which stops signals from the brain reaching the muscles. This may cause someone to lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, drink or breathe. The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories, and allows you to customise your page to the sections that matter most to you.Average life expectancy is just 18 months from diagnosis, and three out of 10 people with MND die within 12 months.
The 5K fun run – which will take in the old Pit Head, woodland terrain and along the shore front of the Loch. Every penny raised will contribute to essential services for people affected by MND and power pioneering MND research.
