Rachel Borthwick has opened up on the difficult year it has been for herself and her family, including her children Marlowe and Jaxon, after her aggressive breast cancer returned.
A breast cancer survivor who was living with the fear that the aggressive disease would return has spoken of her pain after her worst nightmare became a reality.
Rachel - who was diagnosed with the disease after finding a lump between her breast and armpit in September 2021 - was put on chemotherapy tablets which were stopped when she got her third tumour. She has since had both tumours removed and has opened up about the difficult year it has been for herself and her family, including her daughter Marlowe, aged seven and eight-year-old son Jaxon."The first time was a blow, it’s horrendous when you are told you’ve got cancer.
"My little boy was panicking and said ‘mummy, I don’t want to lose you’. These are the kinds of things they say and it’s very upsetting. She added: "My oncologist and her team think that, for now, because there is no visible tumour they want to hold off on any treatment. Started by her family, the GoFundMe page raised £5,000 in the first four hours of it going live. It now sits at over £17,000.
